Peanut Butter On A Burger? Say What Now?

Front Street Cafe, New Richmond, Ohio

July 02, 2020

Burger Time: Robb

So the Mrs and I ventured to Front Street Cafe last Thursday in New Richmond. They typically only serve burgers on Thursdays. With that being said, I had the special.

It was a half pound burger with pepper jack cheese, bacon, and peanut butter. That's right, I said peanut butter. I ordered mine with lettuce and tomatoes as well.

The burger was cooked to order...always medium. Had a little flavor on its own but not much. I cut it in half, and ate it as it came. My honest opinion was it needed a bit more peanut butter. The second half I added mayo and it was so good. The saltiness and sweet of the peanut butter combined with the tangyness of the mayo was great.

The bun did a decent job holding together.

I give it 3.5 amens.

But hey, check it out some time.

Outback Steakhouse

April 15, 2018

Ummm! YUMMMM!  If you are looking for a burger that is 100% Grass-Fed, premium beef patty topped with aged Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a garlic aioli then this would be a burger that you would need to try.

It looks pretty plain on the outside, but the taste is awesome!  I personally would've liked a bit more seasoning but overall it was seasoned pretty well. The garlic aioli saved it for sure.

There is a huge difference between grass fed beef and corn fed.  If you don't know the difference, take a taste test one day and see for yourself.  But be careful, you will get hooked.

The cheddar cheese paired with the lettuce, tomato and the garlic aioli sauce is really good.

I like my burgers medium, however, mine came a little bit more medium rare then medium.  The lettuce was little wilted, but the cheese was perfectly melted.

Overall I give this burger a 3.5 out of 5.

So, with the February almost over, I have finished four books.  Well, honestly, I have listened to four books on my Audible app, which in quite awesome I might say.

Chase the Lion by Mark Batterson

The End of Me by Kyle Idleman

Wild Goose Chase by Mark Batterson

I would say these are all great books.  Especially if you are looking to make changes in your life.  Stay tuned for more.

Bacon Cheeseburger

Gano Tavern

November 19, 2017

So I have this friend at work that knows all these neat places to eat.  I asked her the other day where are some cool places that have some great burgers?  She asked me if I had ever had a Gano's burger?  And unfortunately I had not.  With that being said, she introduced me to Gano Tavern.

I am not sure really how I have lived without Gano,s bacon cheeseburger until now.  It was thick and juicy and perfectly cooked.  It was great with lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

If you haven't had the chance to eat at Gano, please take the time to head out to Sharonville, Ohio to do so.  Now, upon first sight, this place looks live a dive bar.  But don't let it's looks deceive you.

Burger Time Across the Nation

3 burgers - 3 stops

May 07, 2016

So I have been away for awhile.  During my travels I have stopped at three great places and enjoyed their burgers.  My first stop was a locally owned BBQ joint in St. Mary's, Ohio called Smok'n Jo's and had their Manhandler Burger, which was made of 1pound of hamburger, bbq pulled pork, onion tanglers, lettuce, tomato and pickles served on a homeade bun.  More recently I went to Colorado Springs, Colorado.  There I ate at Ted's Montana Grill and had the Montana Breakfast Bison Burger.  Which is made up of bison burger, ham, bacon, a fried egg, tomato spread and mayo.  See the picture for more details.  And lastly while in Colorado I had the Bison Brisket Burger.  It was made of wonderful bison burger, awesome brisket, and bbg sauce.

All were soooo good!

Free Range Turkey Burger

Lachey's ****

I had the opportunity to go to Lachey’s for lunch the other day.  Lachey’s is the Sports Bar and Grill that Nick and Drew Lachey started here in Cincinnati.  If you don’t know who Drew and Nick Lachey are, well they are two of the three members of 98 Degrees.  Nick has had his own reality show and Drew won a previous season of Dancing with the Stars.

So enough about them…It’s located on 12th Street in Over the Rhine in Downtown, Cincinnati, Ohio.  It’s a great restaurant set up, however I did have a hard time finding the entrance.  The main door is covered by a glass door that does not have a handle on the outside which made me think it was an exit only.

Once inside the ambiance was fantastic.  A bit loud, but I expected as much.  When being sat I realized that I was too big to fit in the booths which is a shame, but not a complete turn off.  When asked for a table, we were escorted to the back of the restaurant and sat in a very mute and secluded area as if it was a late minute add on. It took all of the fun and atmosphere out of our visit.  I eventually asked to be re-sat which we were.  Once settled and back out in the main area with everyone else we ordered our appetizer; the chicken fingers.  They were seemingly gigantic, breaded in panko breading.  They were crunchy and juicy.  I almost didn’t even need the sauce that was provided.

For my meal I ordered the free range turkey burger.  It was made with turkey, goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, and provolone. The bun was great.  It was warm and buttery, perfectly crisp.  The goat cheese was so gooey and perfectly melted.  The roasted tomatoes and guacamole paired with the grilled taste of the turkey was fantastic.  I would give the burger a five out of 5.

The only downside to my visit over all was that the fries were extra.  With that being said my overall experience, including the blunder with the seating situation I would give it a four out of five.

If you are ever in Cincinnati or looking for a great place to watch sports and grab some great food I would definitely recommend Lachey’s.

The Martian

Matt Damon - Comedy ****

February 06, 2016

The movie opens on the planet of Mars sometime in the near future.  It showcases a plathera of actors, Matt Damon being the the central character.  This movie deals with loneliness, despair, victories, moral debate, moments of religous doubt.

There is a brief naked booty shot as well as a little bit of foul language.  It poses some great philosophical questions.  It had me on the edge of my seat at times.  It was quite comical through out the entire movie. I give it a 4 out of 5.
